Quaker Week takes place each October and is a part of a national series of events aimed at raising awareness of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers).
It involves a series of planned activities to share the spiritual and cultural life of local Quakers. Previous year’s events have included a poetry workshop, a meditation session, a talk on Quakers and local history, and performances of West Gallery Music by local choral group, Vital Spark.
In 2013 we opened our historic Meeting House to curious members of the public. Some of our visitors were just curious about Quakers, or wanted to look inside our historic Meeting House, whilst others appreciated the half an hour of silent worship.
Also, Jerry Conway ran a guided Quaker meditation called ‘Experiment with Light’.

Quaker Week coincides with Quaker Quest. This is a series of weekly meetings that aim to introduce the Quaker way to anybody interested in exploring their spirituality in a new way.
